Everything you must see and do during your first visit to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios.
Disneyland Paris might be one of the smaller Disney resorts, it has a lot of fun for you to discover. It is possible to visit both Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios in one day, just make sure to purchase a 2 park ticket that includes entrance to both.
If you are visiting Disneyland Paris as a day trip from Paris, the RER A arrives right at the gate to the parks. Just make sure you get on the RER that ends at Disneyland Paris because the route splits so not every train goes to the parks.
There are a couple of things that you should be aware of before visiting Disneyland Paris. While smoking in the parks is supposed to be only in designated areas, you will find many people smoking outside of those areas. Many guests in the parks will not be wearing ears, Disneybounding, or wearing Disney shirts which changes the vibe of the parks. Also, Disneyland Paris cast members do not go above and beyond like they do in the US parks.
Below I have everything that is not to be missed at Disneyland Paris Resort!
Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and the Dragon’s Lair
I think that Disneyland Paris has the prettiest castle of all the Disney parks. Modeled more after European castles, the pink turrets contrast nicely with the bright blue sky. If you are looking for a great place to take a photo with no people in the background, go to the left of the castle. You could also take a seat on the wall in front of the castle and shoot up at the castle. Another great option is as you head down to see the Dragon’s Lair under the castle where there is a small patio.
Do not miss the Dragon under the castle which is animatronic. The dragon is really awesome and it will not take long to stop by and say hi.
Big Thunder Mountain
Paris’ version of Big Thunder Mountain is the best!!! It’s an awesome, exciting family coaster. It is one of the most popular rides are Disneyland Paris, so either get a Fastpass or ride it early or late.
Ratatouille: The Adventure
This 4D ride shrinks you down to the size of Remy and takes you on an adventure through Gusteau’s famous Parisian restaurant. Ratatouille does offer Fastpass.
Crush’s Coaster
Disneyland Paris Resort has a few unique rides and Crush’s Coaster is one of them. It’s located at Walt Disney Studios Park and can get extremely busy (and there is no Fastpass). However, it is worth it to ride on the E.A.C. with Crush on this rollercoaster that’s mostly in the dark.
Phantom Manor
This ride just reopened after being refurbished. Phantom Manor is definitely spookier than it’s American counterparts. If you are a fan of Haunted Mansion be sure to ride Phantom Manor.
Alice’s Curious Labyrinth
While not an extremely popular ride, Alice’s Curious Labyrinth is fun and unique. It’s a maze with some of your favorite characters and even a castle that you can climb for fantastic views overlooking the park. This is great to visit later in the day once you have ridden all the popular rides.
“it’s a small world”
While “it’s a small world” would normally not make my list and it’s not my favorite ride. I have to say that the Parisian version might be the best version yet. The ride was bright and colorful with some new scenes. Also, there was no boat jam at the end! This is another ride that you can visit later in the day once you have ridden all the popular rides.
Fantasia Gelati
Across from “it’s a small world” is Fantasia Gelati which is a delicious place to get ice cream on a warm day. They have many flavors to choose from and other cold treats too. Be prepared for a long line and long wait time! We found that the food venues at Disneyland Paris took forever to serve each customer.
Have you visited Disneyland Paris Resort?
