I have a stack of photos from when S was a baby+ that have not been scrapbooked. These photos sit in a box until I get the urge to scrapbook a 12×12 page. Usually when watching one of the garden girls videos on Two Peas I would get inspired to scrapbook 12×12, but with them now closed I started looking else where for inspiration.
I came across a Sketch N Scrap, which posts several scrapbook sketches a month with their design teams take on the sketch. So I used their sketch for the month as a jumping off point for this layout about a trip to the zoo where one of the tigers seems to be looking right into S’s eyes. He may be wanting her for lunch 🙂 I used a lot of products from the new Project Life Heidi Swap Gold Foil kit. I love the shimmer that the gold foil adds to the layout.
I had a small problem with my date stamp! It did not want to stamp the year. I usually stamp my date three times that way if it doesn’t come out clean the first time I have two other stamps but this time it was not cooperating with me so I just kept stamping – it was making me mad. The arrow in the top right corner and the geotag were really white where the rest of my layout is more cream, so I used watercolors to change the white to pink. S decided to scrapbook with me and ended up creating the following layout.
Supplies used:
Project Life Heidi Swap Gold Foil Kit
We R Memory Keepers Indian Summer Day Dreamer 12×12
American Crafts Amy Tan 8 1/2×11 Hot Buy Paper Pack
Bella Blvd Arrows Black and White
Simple Stories Snap Stories Stickers
American Crafts Dear Lizzy Empherma Pack

I seriously need to start scrapbooking the photos I have of my girls. Some are in photo albums and the rest are stacked in a box. Thanks for the idea Paris!
Having your photos printed is the first step!
i LOVE SCRAPBOOKING BUT I HARDLY EVER GET TO DO IT ANYMORE. MY 14 MONTH OLD KEEPS ME PRETTY BUSY. 🙂 STILL, IF I EVER FIND A MOMENT TO SCRAPBOOK, I’LL HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS LAYOUT–IT’S SO PRETTY!
Thank you Natalie! I know how that goes, that’s why I am still play catch up on layout when S was little.
I adore all of the gold in this layout!
Thank you Anne Marie!
I’m usually a silver girl but lately, I’ve noticed that gold is slowly growing on me. I love the way it looks in Siena’s scrapbook. And way to go Mom for scrapbooking. There aren’t many of us that still scrapbook.
Me too, I love silver, but gold is definitely growing on me.
I love this layout and design … so cute and so creative!
Thank you Trish
I used to scrapbook, but after a while I gave up because I lost inspiration. These layouts are so cute, I may just have to pick up scrapbooking again. Thanks a million!
I know I go through spell where I really want to scrapbook and that’s all I want to do and other times were I’ll just do one small piece of the page every couple days. I hope you get back into scrapbooking 🙂
One day I will get back into scrap booking. When my older kids were younger I was over scrap booking and I love looking back on them.
That’s the best part, when we sit down and look back 🙂
Very cool!! I always wanted to get into scrapbooking but I am so impatient lol Love to see the progress you will make!

Thank you Nancy!
I envy how organized you are with your scrapbooking! That’s the one area I lack motivation, but every time I see your wonderful creations, it inspires me to do better.
Thank you Alli! You should see my scrapbook desk total disaster 🙂
Really pretty. The gold touches are just enough. I’ve always wanted to scrapbook but never had the patience…LOL
Thank you Tiffany! I really like the gold too.
I’m with Louida! I have been wanting to scrapbook for awhile now. This is so creative!
Thank you! I usually do the pocket scrapbooking system. I find it quicker since I don’t feel like I have much time, but I still love to create 12×12 pages every once in a while.
So glad you found our site! I love your layout, the touches of gold are wonderful and your background! Thanks for playing along with us this month at Sketch N Scrap!
Thank you Lisa! I am enjoying the sketches.
Ahh i have a scrapbook that i bought 2 years ago and STILL haven’t put it together! 🙁
Oh no!
Great layout! Thanks for joining us at Sketch N Scrap! 🙂
Thank you Mandy!
I have so many bags of things “to scrapbook” that it’s going to take a long time to get it done. I’ve never made a scrapbook book before. Some of my former colleagues were really good at it. I think I need to start with organizing the things like you’ve done here.
Yes, organizing it is key. I try working currently and then going back to prior years when I have time or I feel like a change. Then my travel scrapbooks get fit in usually when I am waiting for photos to print.
I used to scrapbook a lot more and this is inspiring me to begin again!
I hope you do, I love looking back at my albums! I also call scrapbooking therapy 🙂
Hmm, seems like a great product and you got some great results.
Thank you ALeshea! I’m loving the gold.
Gosh, this made me miss scrapbooking. I had to give up years ago, because I just couldn’t keep up. Really nice layouts.
Thank you Lysha! I usually call scrapbooking my therapy 🙂
