Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to showing your love for your significant other, but I think that Valentine’s Day goes beyond that to our whole family. I love to make holidays special for my daughter and Valentine’s Day is no different! We had the Ultimate Valentine’s Day Get Together that did not leave anyone out. These are the moments that I know my daughter will cherish!
My M&Ms
What’s better than chocolate candy? Chocolate candy with personal messages or photos on them!
My M&Ms combines the world’s most loved chocolate with your own personalization to make any celebration sweeter like Valentine’s Day, Birthdays and Weddings. In fact, the first time I purchased My M&Ms were for favors at my wedding.
For my Valentine’s Day Get Together, I am going to use these pink, light purple and white M&Ms with sweet notes printed on them like ‘I love you S’, ‘Happy V-day’ or you could include any message you want. You can also add photos or clipart to the 25 different colors that are available!
Ultimate Valentine’s Day Get Together
For our Valentine’s Day dinner, we had Shirley temples, fruit kabobs, fried ravioli with marinara sauce and brownies.
On special occasions I like to spoil S with a kiddie cocktail and one of her favorites is a Shirley Temple and it fits right into our Valentine’s Day theme with the red color. Click here to see my Shirley Temple recipe. I finished the kiddie cocktail with a couple cherries and a fun straw.
For the fruit kabobs, I used raspberries and mini marshmallows alternated on a paper straw. You could also use strawberries.
For the heart shaped brownies, I used a mix but you could make homemade and pour the batter into heart shaped spring forms, but you could also bake in a regular pan and then use heart cookie cutters to cut out. Five minutes before the brownies were finished, I pulled the pans out and topped them with some Valentine’s Day M&Ms. You can also serve your brownies with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
The star of dinner was fried ravioli with marinara sauce. I am all for cutting corners when I am putting together a meal for my family. I used fresh ravioli from my local supermarket (mine was in the produce section) and my favorite jar of marinara sauce. You could of course make from scratch. To fry the ravioli, place an egg in a bowl and whisk. Place Italian bread crumbs in another bowl. Warm an inch and half of vegetable oil in a pan. Dip each ravioli into the egg and then into the bread crumbs. I would recommend preparing all ravioli before frying and then frying them in batches – they cook fast. After 30 seconds – 1 minute or golden brown flip the ravioli and cook the other side for another 30 seconds. Remove and drain on paper towel lined plate. Serve with a side of marinara.
