Turkey, Apple and Gouda Faux Panini with Honey Mustard Maple Mayo

Does your child like to help in the kitchen?  Or are you trying to find more ways to involve your child?  My daughter enjoys helping in the kitchen, however, I am still not comfortable with her using the stove.  Therefore I am always trying to think of new recipes that she can make.  

Our newest favorite is Turkey, Apple and Gouda Faux Panini which she can make all by herself with the exception of the slicing the apple.  This fall inspired faux panini with honey mustard maple mayo is a wonderful combination of sweet and savory.

This past weekend, S made these Turkey, Apple and Gouda Faux Panini to enjoy at her teddy bear picnic.  She loves to have picnics in the backyard under the canopy of the oak trees.  Picnics seem like such small thing but they are huge special moments for kids!

What makes these faux paninis easy and fun for kids to make are that they are made using Kellogg’s® Eggo® Mickey Mouse Homestyle Waffles for the “bread”.  We love to use Eggo Mickey Mouse Homestyle Waffles beyond the breakfast table including this Chicken and Waffles recipe and Sundae Waffle Bar!

Turkey, Apple and Gouda Faux Panini with Honey Mustard Maple Mayo Sauce

Dipping Sauce

1. 2 Tbsp Mayo
2. 1/2 Tsp Maple syrup
3. 1 Tbsp Honey mustard

Faux Panini

1. Eggo Mickey Mouse Homestyle Waffles
2. Sliced gouda cheese
3. Sliced turkey
4. Apple slices, sliced thin

Instructions

1. Combine mayo with maple syrup and honey mustard for the dipping sauce.
2. Toast two Eggo Mickey Mouse Homestyle Waffles per sandwich.
3. Top one Eggo Mickey Mouse Homestyle Waffles with a slice of gouda cheese, sliced turkey, thin apple slices, and another Eggo Mickey Mouse Homestyle Waffles.
