When we moved into our new house nearly 4 years ago, we had an extra bedroom that we stuck all my daughter’s toys in and called it a playroom. However, we never did any decorating in the room because we were not sure what the room was going to be permanently. Considering 4 years later it’s still a playroom, it’s time to decorate the room with Fathead vinyl decals!
Clean Up
The first step is to clean out the room or clean it up. My daughter can make quite a mess in her playroom, mostly because she had too much in the room. So we cleaned out all the old toys that she does not play with or are too young for her. We also got rid of garbage or items that belonged in other areas of the house.
Organize
Then we organized all the toys placing like items together in bins, baskets or tubs. We are lucky that the room has a large closet where large toys, games, puzzles and legos all reside. Toys that she plays with often: barbies, babies and dress up items are all out in the room.
Paint
Our room was already a great color, but if your room needs new paint it is one of the cheapest ways to redo a room. It’s amazing what a coat of fresh paint will do to a room.
Decorate
Now it’s time for the fun part! Since, I am still not sure how long the room will be a playroom, we decided the best option for decorations are vinyl decals from Fathead! These vinyl decals are removable and will not damage the paint on your walls. They can also be repositioned if needed.
Fathead has so many different choices for decals, everything from NBA, MBL, NFL to Disney to Martha Stewart to Nickelodeon. We went with Martha Stewart watercolor flowers and “Shine Bright” water color words. Placing an order was simple because their website is very well organized which made it so easy to find what I was looking for.
My order arrived quickly. The decals were easy to install (Fathead does offer installation video and instructions). Just be careful when removing the vinyl from the backing around delicate or thin areas of your design (like the center of the flowers). My daughter (age 6) placed all the flowers and stars on the walls and I came behind her with the included squeegee to make sure there were no bubbles.
I love the new vinyl decals from Fathead in the playroom, but more importantly my daughter loves the new decorations too!
