A list of some of the best Austin area pumpkin patches that are full of autumn fun activities for the whole family.
Fall is one of the best times of year in Austin and visiting pumpkin patches is one of my family’s favorite activities. We have created so many family memories of visiting pumpkin patches over the years.
With so many local pumpkin patches and farms full of fun activities, photo ops, pumpkins to purchase, corn mazes, and more you will find one that is perfect for your family.
Here’s a list of some of the best pumpkin patches near Austin:
Austin Area Pumpkin Patches
The Robinson Family Farm
Located in Temple, The Robinson Family Farm offers over 20 attractions at their fall festival. Some activities include axe throwing, corn cannons, a barrel train, bounce pads, ziplines, a corn pit, yard games, hay rides, and more. They also offer a wine/biergarten, an ice cream shop, and tons of food trucks.
The Robinson Family Farm has some great photo ops too with a gorgeous pumpkin house and a vintage truck full of pumpkins. They are only open on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday during the fall festival). Make sure to pre-purchase tickets online.
Sweet Eats Fruit Farm
Located just north of Austin in Georgetown is Sweet Eats Fruit Farm. Their fall festival is full of fun activities including a corn maze, pony rides, a petting zoo, wagon rides, apple cannons, jump pads, slides, pedal carts/trikes, swing lines (similar to zipline), and more.
They have more than 40 different kinds of pumpkins available for purchase and you can visit their pumpkin patch during the week without having to pay for admission ($5 admission on the weekends) to the fall festival (with all the activities). They have some of my favorite fall photo ops including a pumpkin house and a vintage truck full of pumpkins.
They are open every day with extended hours on the weekend. If you want to experience the fall festival be sure to pre-purchase tickets online.
Texas Pumpkin Fest
Just a short drive north of Austin to Leander is the Texas Pumpkin Fest. Their attractions include magic shows, slides, a mechanical bull, a ferris wheel, rock climbing, face painting, axe throwing, bungee trampoline, slides, and more. Some attractions cost extra. They have food vendors onsite and lots of photo ops along with tons of pumpkins to purchase.
They are only open Thursday-Sunday with limited activities available on Thursday. Thursday is free admission for veterans, active military, first responders, and their families.
Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival
In 2024, this pumpkin patch is moving to south Austin. The Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival is located at Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead in Dripping Springs. They offer six themed weekends of family fun with lots of activities including bouncy bull riding, a corn pit, giant Lego, mount haymore, pioneer bowling, yard games, and more.
The pumpkin festival features photo ops, food vendors, and plenty of pumpkins for purchase. They are open Saturday and Sunday and tickets can be pre-purchased online.
Sweet Berry Farms
Located west of Austin in Marble Falls is Sweet Berry Farms’ Harvest of Fall Fun. Activities include hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin painting, barrel train, sand art, pony rides (only on Saturday and Sunday), stuff a scarecrow, and more. The farm is free to visit, however, each activity has a fee to participate.
They are open every day except Wednesdays and have a plethora of pumpkins for purchase.
Bonus: Pumpkin Nights
At Pioneer Farms in Austin from late September thru October is Pumpkin Nights. While Pumpkin Nights is not a pumpkin patch; it is an amazing family-friendly nighttime experience. With carved pumpkins lighting a half-mile trail that winds through a variety of themed areas including the Forbidden City, a Pirate’s Cove, and others. The trail is full of photo opportunities and both young kids and tween/teens will enjoy this experience.
The Village at the start/end of the trail has a variety of food and games along with nightly fire dancing. Pumpkin Nights is extremely popular so you must pre-purchase your timed entry tickets online ahead of time. Parking onsite is an extra charge.
