With my husband’s birthday occurring while we were on vacation, I thought I would make him a extra special cake when we returned home. He is in LOVE with SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars. I am not sure who is more excited to hear the ice cream man, my daughter or my husband. Every time the ice cream man makes his rounds my husband ends up with a SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bar. I knew that if I made his cake using SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars he would be a happy camper!
The best news ever (well at least for my husband) is that you can buy SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars at Walmart! On a recent shopping trip to Walmart I picked up everything I needed for my husband’s birthday including SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars, M&M’s® Plain 42 oz. bag, M&M’s® Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches, Dr Pepper® Vanilla Float 12-pack and Pedigree Dentastix® Beef Flavor.
For the Cake
Knowing that I could not go wrong using SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars, I decided to start with a chocolate cake, make a peanut butter frosting layer and top with sliced SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars. While the cake was easy to make it will take some time because you want the cake to cool before applying the frosting layer and then you will need to freeze the cake before serving.
Party Details
When it is time to throw a party, I always look at what I already own and think of how I can use it. To hold the cans of Dr Pepper® Vanilla Float and to keep them cool I used a large ceramic bowl with ice. On a side note: how cute are those Dr Pepper® Vanilla Float cans! Just perfect for a summer party.
I added summer colors to the table using plain M&M’s® in a tall clear glass jar. I love edible decorations because then I get to enjoy them afterwards!
For an additional dessert option, I also included M&M’s® Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches. If you have not tried these before run (don’t walk) to your nearest Walmart!
The Pedigree Dentastix® was perfect to keep our dog entertained while we were eating the SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bar Cake. The treat kept him from asking for hand outs while we enjoyed the party.
- 1 Chocolate Cake Mix + all ingredients needed to make cake
- 8oz Cream Cheese
- 1 cup of Peanut Butter
- 1/2 cup of Milk
- 1/4 cup of Sugar
- 8oz of Whipped Cream
- Caramel Topping
- Chocolate Topping
- 4 SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars
- Make chocolate cake according to package instructions using a 9x12 pan to bake it in.
- Combine cream cheese, peanut butter, sugar and milk using a mixer. Fold in whipped cream (I used the wire whip attachment on my Kitchen Aid). Evenly spread on the top of the cake once cake has cooled.
- Drizzle both the caramel and chocolate topping on top of the peanut butter layer. Slice the SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars and lie them on top of the peanut butter layer. Drizzle additional caramel and chocolate topping.
- Place cake in freezer until frozen solid. Serve frozen.

This. Looks. PHENOMENAL!!!! I love the Snickers ice cream bars but am always reluctant to buy since they’re LOADED with saturated fat. But a homemade recipe? I dig.
