I really love doing Project Life! I like having a home for all the everyday moment photos that I take, which is mostly what this week is made up of.
On the title/date card I took three vellum shapes from Crate Paper’s Oh Darling pack and sewed over them with my sewing machine to form a banner.
However, I made a mistake when I was stamping the date. To correct the mistake I stamped the correct date on a piece of white paper and glued it to the die cut. I would have just replaced the die cut with another, but I had already sewed the banner over the top.
Here’s a look at the whole spread:
And a closer look at the left and right sides:
Some memorabilia from the week that I attached to a 3×4 piece of scrapbook paper. I don’t know about you but I always keep all the fortunes from our fortune cookies.
For S to use for Thank You cards for Christmas and her birthday, I took a picture of a painting she had made and had Shutterfly use that as the exterior of the cards. I love that it boosts my daughter’s self-esteem and is a keepsake for the recipient. I love how they turned out and plan to make additional cards as we need them.
Another item I had made at Shutterfly was a puzzle of S with Merida on our last trip to Disney World. And how fun is it to put together a puzzle of yourself!
I had an insert this week with photos from a trip to the zoo.
I like to triple stamp words or dates so that when it is not perfect it’s not as noticeable.

I always find these great ideas for creating a keepsake of our year through projects and photos once the year has already started. I have a reminder in my phone for December to pick and plan what I want to do to document 2015.
I love your ideas and the day at the zoo looked fun! We are huge fans of the zoo.

Stephanie, you really could start project life at any point in the year. I think the first year I did project life I started July 1st. Thank you for stopping by!

I have always loved scrapbooking but it takes so much time.

I’m lucky that my 4 year old daughter likes to “scrapbook” too. So she will work on her “layouts” with me.

So, basically that is a phototbook with little slots? Do you use your printer for the pictures?
mybigfathappylife says
Caden, similar yes. Many companies now offer divided page protectors that fit into scrapbook albums. The page protectors come in a variety sizes (6×8 to 12×12) with photo slots also in a variety of sizes (3×4, 4×4, 4×6, 6×6, etc). I do not use my printer to print my photo just because I do not have a great printer instead I usually send my photos to Shutterfly to print. I do use an app called pic jointer to create 4×6 photo collages or to print two 3×4 photos on one 4×6 print to getting the smaller images and to reduce printing expenses. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m not a very good scrapbooker. I’ve tried. It just didn’t work. If I had your talent, I’m sure I would have stuck with it. What a beautiful way to keep track of everyday moments! You rock!
