I had picked up some perler beads at Targetβs dollar spot – how could I pass them up for only a dollar. While we could have followed the directions on the package to make a butterfly, I had seen Kiwi Crate make a bowl using the perler beads. After S played around with the beads, making various designs, we decided to try making a bowl. I thought making a bowl out of the perler beads was something that could actually be used in her room.
To make the perler bowl, take an oven proof glass bowl and spray the inside with nonstick spray (like Pam) and then placed all the beads inside. We pushed on the beads to form a single layer on the bottom and up the sides. *The size of your bowl will depend on the quantity of perler beads that you have.
Once S was happy with the arrangement, we placed the bowl in a preheated oven at 350* for 8-10 minutes. Once it looked like the perler beads were starting to droop I pulled the bowl out. We let the bowl cool slightly just so it wasn’t sticky and then using a butter knife loosened the perler bead bowl from the glass bowl.
We placed the perler bead bowl in S’s bedroom to hold her jewelry and a couple special hair clips. The bowl is pretty, matches her room, and is great at corralling small parts. And S loves the perler bead bowl!
