S was so excited to explore the Arctic with this subscription from Junior Explorers. She loves learning about animals, so this is a perfect subscription for her.
One of the best things about receiving subscription boxes is the anticipation and joy of receiving mail. S always has a blast opening up a new package and seeing what is inside.
We received the Arctic Mission Kit this month. Each month has a different themed mission and includes an activity book, a mission envelope and letter, photo and facts postcards, animal flashcards, an ecosystem fact sheet, an official mission pin, animal toys, a wristband, stickers and temporary tattoos.
S enjoyed learning about the ecosystem and animals from the arctic. Of course stickers and temporary tattoos are two of her favorite things!
The animal toys were very tiny, but we had picked up some similar animals during our cruise to Alaska and S loves them. She went and found a penguin from her stash to add to the mix.
The mission envelope has on it a special code to unlock your mission online, which is 5 mini games that includes educational material, games, and activities. Much of the same information that is on the animal flashcards and ecosystem fact sheet is included in the mission which helps to re-emphasize the content in a fun way like rescuing an animal.
The online mission is a great way to teach children about conservation. At the end of the mission, your child is able to convert their points to dollars to be donated to nonprofits including World Wildlife Fund and/or Nature Conservancy. S choose to split her donation between the two nonprofits.
The Junior Explorers Mission Kit was a wonderful addition to our home school curriculum and gave S a nice change of pace. She was excited to explore the Arctic and learned from both the kit and the online mission.
The Junior Explorers subscriptions are available on a monthly, 3 month, 6 month or yearly basis. They also make great gifts!
