I may not be like the average person, but for Mother’s Day I don’t care to receive a bunch of gifts or go to the spa. I’d rather spend time quietly together as a family like going hiking or scrapbooking with S if the weather doesn’t cooperate. I love to receive handmade items from S. Since flowers die quickly, S and I decided to make some paper flowers. Then I can keep forever or about 4000 years as S says.
The paper flowers are easy enough to make for a child yet beautiful for all. The only supplies you need are a couple pieces of construction paper in the colors that you want your flowers to be plus green for the steams. You also need some tape or adhesive and scissors. You could use patterned paper instead of construction paper but make sure it’s double-sided since you will be able to see both the inside and outside.

Tulips are my very favorite spring flower and your paper tulips are adorable! They’re so pretty I thought they would be really hard to make, but you make it look so simple. I, too, like to spend a quiet day at home with the family on Mother’s Day. The restaurants are way too crowded and it’s just so much more comfortable at home.
Thank you Alli! They were really simple to make! S took them all and gave them to one of her babies.
I’ve been wanting to do something similar to this – my daughter saw some flower pens at the dentist, and I explained to her how to make them. I think she’d really like them around the house, and it’s a great way to add some ‘creativity’ in order to keep the pen selection a little more tidy and pleasing.
That’s so true Susan. I always love the flower pens at different places, so fun to play with and use.
I’m not really much of a flower person myself but I remember when I was younger and making paper flowers. I love it when my daughters make me things because I know it comes from their heart. I’m looking forward to what they will make me this year.
The presents that kids make are always the best ones!
These are so cute & look like they will hold up nicely for keepsakes. I do like nice flowers, but would rather have a family event or keepsake in place of flowers. Going to have to try this with my kiddos….I know they will love them! Great post! 🙂
Thank you Tiffani! I hope you and your kids have fun making them!
Paris, these are so cute and you did such a great job. Love all the detail.
Thank you so much Aleshea! They were fun to make with S, but then she stole them all after I photographed them!
These are so pretty! I used to love doing origami too, maybe it’s time to give it another go and pretty up my house a bit! x
Thanks Madeline! I always have fun playing with paper! I hope you pull it out again!
Really cute, I’m pinning these for our craft hour. Thank you. #MagicMoments
Thank you Fiona!
