Easy and festive – this holiday sangria will be the highlight of your party! Filled with citrus, cranberries, crisp apple, and cinnamon for one irresistible drink!
After spending the last two weekends in the Texas Hill Country visiting wineries, tasting wines and maybe purchasing too many bottles of wine, I was inspired to make a holiday sangria for Christmas.
I made this sangria with a bottle of semi-sweet red wine because it is one of my favorites! Be sure to use a bottle of red wine that you enjoy because just like in cooking you want to have a good base.
So that this sangria screams the holidays, I added things that remind me of Christmas like cranberries, citrus, crisp apples, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary.
- 1 orange, halved and then sliced
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 cup cranberries
- 2 sticks of cinnamon
- 1 bottle of red wine
- ¾ cup ginger ale or club soda
- 2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary
- Place into a large pitcher sliced apples, oranges, and whole cranberries. Stir in the wine.
- Let the sangria chill for about 30 minutes. When you're ready to serve, top the pitcher with ginger ale or club soda.
- Add fresh rosemary to garnish and cinnamon sticks to garnish.
