Before we moved into our new house I knew that I wanted a fireplace with a mantel. Our old house did not have one and I missed being able to decorate a mantel for the holidays!
I have collected my pumpkins over time, usually picking them up on clearance after Halloween. I love the variety of textures and colors of the pumpkins. I think I need a couple more; maybe I need to go shopping….
Once real pumpkins start hitting the farmers market, I’ll pile heirloom pumpkins on the hearth. My favorite being the cinderella pumpkins.
I love this Mickey ear pumpkin that I picked up on one of our many trips to Disney World around Halloween. I love buying souvenirs that I will use, that are unique, and that remind me of the fun moments.
I picked these vintage inspired lights a couple years ago (on clearance) and I love them. They are battery operated so I do not have to worry about an electrical outlet. I used Command Stripe hooks placed on top of my mantel to hold the swag in place. I have ended up using these hooks almost year around holding different items.
Even though my husband made fun of me for decorating for fall because we are still very much into summer with the heat and humidity, the first day of fall was this past Tuesday.
Have you decorated for fall yet? Do you decorate for fall?

Thank you Alli! The Mickey one is a fun addition!
Your mantle is very elegant. I especially like the vintage books stacked with the papered pumpkin on top. I share you pleasure of shopping the clearance sales after the holiday! That’s when you can get the best stuff, like your cute lights!
I totally agree Shirley! Thank you so much!
Great job on the Fall decor! It’s terribly hot, humid, & icky here in FL but I so want to start my Fall decorating! The painting on the mantel blends in so well with your Fall color scheme!
I know what you mean Michelle, we’ve just had a couple “nice days” in the 80s.
I never decorate for fall and after seeing this and a few other posts I think the kids and I will do something fun as a project to bring some fall spirit into the home. Yours is simple to which I love
