When life gives you donuts make donut bread pudding!
The other day when we went to pick up donuts the employee misread the coupon and we ended up with an extra dozen donuts. I love donuts but that was way too many donuts for us, so I decided to try making donut bread pudding.
We lived in Louisiana for 12 years before moving to Texas and have been missing their delicious bread pudding, so this donut bread pudding hit the spot! It is the perfect way to use up day-old donuts!

Donut Bread Pudding
Combine together the ingredients for the bread pudding. Add the cut-up glazed donuts and make sure all the pieces are covered in the egg mixture. Let the mixture sit for 20 minutes.
Heat your oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 2.75-quart baking dish with cooking spray. Add your mixture to the baking dish and bake for 60-65 minutes. Allow to cool.
Combine the frosting ingredients together and add to the top of your bread pudding prior to serving.
Store leftovers in the fridge.
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups half and half
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 Tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 Tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 dozen glazed donuts, cut into 1ish inch pieces
- 2 Tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 1/2 block of cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Mix together the first 8 ingredients until combined.
- Add the cut up donuts and make sure all the pieces are covered in the egg mixture and let sit for 20 minutes.
- Heat your oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 2.75 quart baking dish with cooking spray.
- Add your mixture to the baking dish and bake for 60-65 minutes. Allow to cool.
- Combine the frosting ingredients together and add to the top of your donut bread pudding prior to serving.
- Store leftovers in the fridge.
