Make a fun decorated unicorn pumpkin this Halloween and delight your child (or yourself)! This DIY craft project can be completed with your child. Just be aware that the project does require the use of a hot glue gun.
This craft project is easy and quick to make. Once our pumpkin was painted white (and dried) it took less than 15 minutes to completely decorate our pumpkin. My daughter and I worked on the unicorn pumpkin together which was a fun activity to spend quality time together. I always love these little moments spent together being crafty!
Unicorn Pumpkin
Supplies Needed:
- Plastic pumpkin
- Gold glitter paper
- Artificial flowers
- Acrylic paint
- Black permanent marker
- Paintbrush
- Hot Glue Gun
Directions:
Start by painting your plastic pumpkin white. We used an old pumpkin we had on hand, however you could also purchase a white pumpkin.
Roll the gold glitter paper into a cone shape and hot glue it together so that it keeps its shape. You may need to cut the height of your cone so that it looks good with the size of your pumpkin. Using hot glue, attach the cone to the top of your pumpkin. We went right over the top of the stem.
Hot glue flowers around the top of the pumpkin; covering up the bottom of the cone/horn. Draw on some eyes with eyelashes using a permanent marker.
That’s it! In less than 15 minutes, if your pumpkin is already white, you have a beautiful unicorn pumpkin that will delight your child (or yourself)!
