We love to reward our dog, Duke, for good behavior! We also use treats for training. Duke can hear the sound of the lid opening on his treat jar from anywhere in the house. No matter where he is as soon as he hears the lid of his treat jar lifted off he is immediately there! He has even jumped over furniture in a single bound to get to his favorite treats: Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Oven-Browned Chicken Sausage Bites and Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Hickory Smoked Turkey Bacon Treats.
A super sweet DIY dog treat jar that is personalized with your furbaby’s name would be the perfect addition to your home. The treat jar can be easily whipped up and would also make a terrific welcome gift or birthday gift for dogs or their owners. Just make sure to fill the jar with Nutrish Treats.
We love to give Duke Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Oven-Browned Chicken Sausage Bites because they are made with real U.S. farm-raised chicken which is the #1 ingredient. There are no artificial flavors, meat by-products, corn or wheat, and are inspired by Rachael’s kitchen. Duke also enjoys Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Hickory Smoked Turkey Bacon Treats which are made with real U.S. farm-raised turkey. These treats are grain free with no artificial flavors or meat by-products. They are safely cooked in the USA with the world’s best ingredients. Every dog is unique but they all deserve a real meat treat!
Duke holds a special place in our hearts it is important that we make sure he feels love continuously! While we often refer to Duke as the bull in the china cabinet because he doesn’t realize how large he is, I am thankful for his companionship, his protection, and his ability to make us laugh.
DIY Dog Treat Jar
- Begin by making sure your jar is thoroughly clean and dry. Then determine where you’d like the name to appear on the jar. (I picked up my jar at Target in the kitchen section.)
- Place vinyl cut from a cutting machine or letter stickers on your jar to spell your dog’s name. Be sure to press down firmly.
- Tape off any parts of the jar you do not want to be sprayed and be sure to press the tape down firmly. I chose to have a stripe of frosted glass in the middle of my jar and taped off both the top and bottom of the jar.
- Outside on protected surface, spray the outside of the jar with frosted glass spray following the instructions on the can.
- Carefully remove the vinyl letters/letter stickers and tape once frosted glass spray is dried.
- Fill with Rachael Ray™ treats.
While I was shopping at Target, I picked up both of Duke’s favorite Nutrish Treats. They were located in the dog treat aisle. To see where you can purchase Nutrish Treats click here. Check here for current coupons for Rachael Ray Nutrish Treats.

That’s so neat. I think I need to do that to some jars I’ve collected. I really love what you did. Duke sounds a lot like my cat when we rattle the treat jar.

My dog’s favorite treat is popcorn. Haha. I tried offering him other kinds but he just turns his head away. I will try a small pouch first of that turkey bacon. It sounds like he will like it (hopefully). If not, I can always give it to my niece’s beagle named Tofu.
