Add some fun to your Halloween decor with these DIY spooky potion bottles! There’s also a free printable below so you can print your own potion labels!
Do you love to decorate for Halloween? These spooky potion bottles are a fun decoration for a Halloween party or mantel or bookshelf accessories. They are also easy to make and are a great activity to work on with an older child.
For the bottles, we used mostly free, recycled containers. We used glass container from yogurt, a vintage-style brown cider bottle, a glass coffee drink bottle, and even a jar from marinara sauce. You could also shop your local second-hand stores to find some unique bottles.
For the ingredients, you can use marbles for eyeballs and colored slime for the slug slime. For the unicorn horn dust place white or silver glitter (or pink) in the bottle. For the frog legs and bat blood use watercolored using food coloring.
DIY Spooky Potion Bottles
Download the set of labels here and then simply print them out on paper. I used manilla paper for a vintage feel but you could also use white paper.
After you print the labels, cut each label out and attach them to your bottles. I used mod podge to attach the labels or you could also use double-sided tape.
To add a lid to a couple of the bottles, you can use a brown paper bag cut to a square a little bigger than the top of your bottle and tie it on using twine. You could also use corks or even spray paint the original lid for the bottle.
Then your bottles are ready to decorate your space for a spooky feel this Halloween!
