DIY Sidewalk Chalk Paint

June 13, 2018 By: mybigfathappylife

Directions on how to make your own DIY sidewalk chalk paint for endless summer fun for your kids.

With summer break upon us, I am always looking for fun but easy activities to do with my daughter.  I don’t want to hear “I’m bored” all summer long. One of our favorite activities to do during the warmer months is to make homemade sidewalk chalk paint.

Here is a list of 60 summer activities for kids if you want more ideas.

Directions on how to make your own DIY sidewalk chalk paint for endless summer fun for your kids.

Sidewalk chalk paint is so easy to make with only three ingredients – water, cornstarch, and food coloring. We love to make a rainbow of colors to use on the sidewalk.  It’s a great way to have fun in the sun and washes off the concrete easily.

One of our favorite activities to do during the warmer months is to make homemade sidewalk chalk paint.

Mix together equal parts cornstarch and water into plastic cups.  We used 1/3 cup water and 1/3 cup cornstarch for each color that we made.  Add 3 to 4 drops of food coloring to each cup and stir.  Take the sidewalk chalk paint outside with some paint brushes and have fun!

We played many rounds of tic tac toe with our most recent batch of sidewalk chalk paint!
