Several times during our Disney Cruises my daughter has been gifted or pixie dusted necklaces and magnets and even once a beautiful origami swan. For our seventh cruise, I asked my daughter if she would like to make some bottle cap necklaces that she can give out or pixie dust to other little girls and she said yes. She loved the idea!
I love that by pixie dusting others she is learning about random acts of kindness. I hope that she feels the joy and excitement in gifting to others, especially when she sees the delight on another little girl’s face.
While my family has never participated in fish extender (FE) gift exchanges, these necklaces would be a great gift for girls in your fish extender. You could customize the princess or character on the inside of the necklace to correspond to the child’s favorite making it a personalized necklace.
DIY Bottle Cap Necklaces
Supplies:
Flattened Bottle Caps
Bottle Cap Epoxy Stickers
1-inch Circle Paper Punch
Ball Chain Necklace (or Ribbon/Cord)
Glue (we used Scotch Tacky Glue)
Images (we used packaging from Disney toys, however, scrapbook paper or stickers would work too)
Directions
Start by using a 1-inch circle punch to cut out the image you want for the necklace.
Glue your image to the inside of the bottle cap.
Place a bottle cap epoxy sticker over the top of the image.
Thread the ball chain necklace through the jump ring on the bottle cap.
To package, place each necklace onto cardstock by cutting slites in the top of the piece of cardstock and then placing the necklace through it. Then place them in individual small plastic bags and place a topper on each bag. The topper lets your recipients know that they have been pixie dusted. You could also include your name and stateroom on the tag.
