Do you dread wrapping presents? While it’s not my favorite activity during the holidays, I try to make the best of it. It just takes some holiday spirit and using supplies to help me wrap the presents faster! Plus the joy on my daughter’s face when she tears into a presents makes it all worth it.
I like to turn on Christmas music or my favorite Christmas movie with a mug full of hot chocolate. I find that having good quality scissors that will cut the wrapping paper quickly like Scotch® Multi-Purpose Scissors and lots of tape like the Scotch® Magic™ Tape 3 Pack Caddie or Scotch® Gift Wrap Tape 3 Pack Caddie help make the job easier.
My first step in wrapping presents is to make my gift or name tags. My favorite way to put gift tags on presents is to actually use photos of the person when they were little. For example, I use a picture of my husband when he was 2 in front of his Christmas tree, my daughter with a santa hat on her head, my mother in a field of flower, my dad fishing, etc. It’s nostalgic and fun and bring back so many memories!
Photo Gift Tags
To make your own gift tags, start by gathering up old photos of your family members. This may take a little work of digging through old photo albums or even asking your Mother-in-Law to borrow some photos.
Next scan your photos onto your computer (if you do not have a scanner, you could photograph the photo or copy the photo).
Turn your photos black and white (or keep them color if you want). Within a photo processing program, print multiple copies of each photo. Under print options, choose to have a white border around each picture. Print out all of your photos onto white cardstock.
Depending on the style you are going for, you could cut a straight border around your photo or use deco scissors for a decorative edge.
Wrap your gifts for your loved ones, attach a photo tag using Scotch® Magic™ Tape. I prefer to roll my tape, attach it to the back of my tag and then place it on my present.
Did you know that Scotch® Brand is donating $200,000 to Fisher House this holiday season? This makes me so happy since Fisher House is a charity that provides comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while their loved one is receiving treatment. My dad was in the Army for 20 years before retiring. It’s nice to know that if we needed it, Fisher House would have been there for us.
I picked up all my gift wrapping supplies at Walmart including Scotch® Magic™ Tape 3 Pack Caddie, Scotch® Gift Wrap Tape 3 Pack Caddie, white cardstock for my gift tags, wrapping paper and hot chocolate. Be sure to stock up on Scotch® Brand products early to save with a 50% bonus and Walmart Rollback. I found my Scotch® Brand products on an end cap in the office supply section, but your store may have a display in the holiday section.
