My family loves to have themed movie night with themed food and decorations but it doesn’t have to take a lot of time! To celebrate the release of Peter Rabbit to DVD/Blu-Ray, I planned a fun movie night for the family.
We loved Peter Rabbit! It is an adorable and fun movie that is entertaining for the whole family, while still being appropriate.
Our favorite way to watch a movie is to blow up the air mattress and pile it with pillows and blankets so that we can all get comfortable and stretch out for the duration of the movie. To fit with the theme of Peter Rabbit, I went outside and gathered flower pots, gardening tools, and a watering can. I pulled out a picnic basket, blue canning jars for glasses, beverage dispenser, and berry baskets from around my kitchen. I laid everything out on an old table that I usually keep outside for potting on and dragged into the living room.
Movie night calls for a special dinner for my daughter! A favorite and easy choice are Kid Cuisine All Star Chicken Breast Nugget Meal. Kid Cuisine brings back so many childhood memories for me, therefore now as a parent, I turn to them for fun meals with full servings of vegetables that I trust will satisfy my daughter.
Of course, we have to have themed food! Nothing goes better with a movie than popcorn, so we added some mix-ins to make Bunny Tail Popcorn. It blends the sweet and salty combination for an unbeatable flavor.
I used Orville Redenbacher’s Ultimate Butter – the only leading brand of microwave popcorn with no artificial preservatives, flavors, or dyes in any of its products. Then, I added mini pretzel rods, chocolate candies, mini marshmallow “tails”, and a drizzle of melted white candy melts.
- 1 bag of Orville Redenbacher microwaveable popcorn (I used Ultimate Butter)
- 1 cup of broken mini pretzel rods
- 3/4 cup chocolate candies
- 6 oz. white candy melts
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- Pop the bag of popcorn according to directions.
- Combine popcorn, pretzels, and chocolate candies on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper.
- Melt white candy melts according to package directions and drizzle over the mixture.
- Allow to cool and then mix with mini marshmallows.
Don’t forget to pick up your copy of Peter Rabbit, Orville Redenbacher popcorn, Kid Cuisine, and everything else you need to make this fun movie night at Walmart.

What a fun setup! Love how you used the flower pot as a drink stand. Little touches like this are so sweet for making memories as a family. #client
