It was a HOT day and I wanted a water activity for S to make it bearable to be outside. We pulled out her princess bike, a bucket, dish soap, rags and sponges in order to wash her bike!
S squeezed some dish soap into the bucket and then added in the water. I offered S both rags and sponges, however she seemed to prefer the rag.
S really got into making sure she cleaned every part of her bike including the tires and bell.
Once she finished with the soapy water, S rinsed off her bike with the hose.
Our bike wash lasted for about an hour. Really if water is involved it will make S happy, but this was fun! She really took care to make sure that her bike was completely clean.
My grands love to play outside, but when water is involved, it makes it a lot more fun! What a cute idea for outdoor fun!
Water makes everything better!
Nothing like some outdoor water fun ! It is great to have teachable moments, learning to clean 🙂
Yes Shirley, I love that she was learning and having fun!
Next summer Hamp will be old enough to play outside. I can’t wait to do things like this with him!
I hope you have lots of fun when he’s older
I think this is such a lovely thing to do on a hot day, loads of fun and teaches children about looking after their things.

Yes! Thank you for stopping by
This has to be the cutest post ever. I love it. She looks like she enjoyed it and what a great chore for little ones to do. Can’t wait until my little is old enough for something like this. She would probably drink the soapy water right now. LOL
I love that she didn’t realize it was a chore!
My daughter actually did this activity herself a few days ago. It kept her busy and cool!
Perfect! I know she had lots of fun too
What a cute idea! I think my kids would “play” more than wash.
On a hot day, some water being sprayed around, it makes for lots of fun play 🙂
Aww look how cute she is!! I love how it is super clean at the end 🙂

Thank you! It’s fun when I can get her to do work without her realizing it.
Such a busy little bee! I love how dedicated she is – too cute.
Thanks Madaline!
How cute is that? I hope your bike wash will come to Country Kdis
Thanks for linking up and sharing the fun with Country Kids.
Oh my work I love it. So cute, fun, and wet! oh, and you now have a clean bike!
and she didn’t even know she was working! 🙂
This is such a fun idea! I’m sure all the neighborhood kids would join in on this one!
That sounds fun! A whole neighborhood bike wash 🙂
That looks like so much fun! My kiddos washed their toy cars the other day in a washing up bowl in the garden and had a blast. Maybe next week I’ll let them clean their trikes!
Sounds perfect! I hope they enjoy!
Bike washes are so much fun, aren’t they? And your little one is so cute and concentrated in the photos here. 🙂 It reminds me of our many bike and toy washes – as well as the first real car cleaning our kids helped with around your child’s age – http://traininghappyhearts.blogspot.com/2010/08/practical-life-car-wash.html
They are so much fun! Thank you for sharing.
awww what fantastic attention to detail! #CountryKids
This is so cute! I am going to have my kids do this! *Pinned!

Hitting 2 birds with one stone! An activity and bike washed what is not to love =) #countrykids
Totally agree!
So much fun! Pinned. Sending love your way! Lou Lou Girls
Great fun activity for children. Water has to be one of the best toys and what better way to play with it than to clean bikes. It sounds like she had fun.

Karen, thanks, we love to play with water.
Aww that is too cute! It won’t be long before you have her out there washing the car, haha. Thanks for linking up to Snickerdoodle Sunday
She’d probably enjoy washing the car! I’ll have to try that chore on her 🙂
