Delicious Banana Bread Muffins full of traditional banana bread flavors and gooey chocolate chips.
A warm slice of banana bread slathered in butter brings back wonderful childhood memories! Banana bread is one of those recipes where everyone has their own. Some people like nuts in their bread…I am not one of them, instead I enjoy chocolate chips in mine! Yes, I am a chocoholic 🙂
This may sound weird, but I don’t like storing my banana bread. For example, I usually place my loaf in a ziploc bag, and then when I want a slice I have to pull the entire loaf out of the bag and cut it on a cutting board. So I thought about making my banana bread recipe but baking them in cupcake liners. I like that so much better!

- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 1/2 cups very ripe bananas
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup maraschino cherries (optional)
- Blend butter and sugar together. Then add in the eggs and bananas. Add in the flour and baking soda. Mix in the chocolate chips and cherries.
- Place cupcake liners in the pan and fill the liners 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake at 350* for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

It is so funny because I think I buy bananas in hope they will ripen so much that I have to make banana muffins. I also add chocolate chips to my muffins. It is the only way!
Chocolate chips are definitely a must 🙂
I have some really ripe bananas at home and now I know what I’ll be doing with them! It sounds super easy, and I’m with you on rather having cupcakes over a whole loaf of bread.
I hope you turn those ripe bananas into banana bread muffins!
