When S become old enough to want to start obtaining autographs from the Disney characters, I started thinking and researching different ways to collect autographs. I have previously made a Disney autograph book using autograph cards which I love to use for visits to Disney World.
For our last 2 Disney cruises, I have made an 8×8 hard bound autograph book using Shutterfly. What I love about this autograph book is that I use photos from previous Disney cruises while leaving a spot for the characters to sign. This makes the autograph book personalized for your child.
Having the ability to add multiple photos to one page is fun, especially when the characters are dressed in different outfits! Just make sure that you leave enough room for the character to easily sign your page.
To make, add one character to each page leaving enough room for the character to easily be able to sign your page. If you have multiple photos of the character in different outfits or from different trip use them. I intentionally leave photos that are older of S in her autograph book to help show the passage of time.
I always find the software for photo processing websites so very easy to use. If you wanted to dress your pages up you could add different style options. I just really like the focus to be on the photos.
Be sure to leave room for autographs of characters that you have not yet met! Just leave a couple pages at the end. Also, we leave a spot for the captain of the ship to sign on a photograph of the cruise ship. We also plan to get our servers autograph this time.
Be sure to keep your autograph handy, you never know who you will run into on the cruise! And Ariel was super excited to see herself in our book (the same exact Ariel we had seen 1.5 years prior).
This same idea would work for a Disney World or Disneyland trip, as long as you were willing to carry the book around.
To keep your book clean during your trip, place your autograph book and two permanent markers in a resealable bag. Also if you are flying to your destination, I highly recommend that you carry your autograph book in your carry-on just in case.
What is your favorite way to collect character autographs?
