Disclosure: My Big Fat Happy Life was provided a Creation Crate for review; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
When I saw Creation Crate, I knew that it would be absolutely perfect activity for my daughter and her dad. Creation Crate is a monthly subscription box that teaches you how to build electronics – both hardware and software. This monthly tech project is a great way to encourage and expand your child in STEM.
While circuits, sensors and robots may seem intimidating, Creation Crate breaks the steps down to help you understand the basics of building electronics.
S was able to practice reading and following directions while putting together the first project a Mood Lamp. Each month, Creation Crate builds upon what you learned in the previous month to continue to grow your knowledge.
You will have to download a free coding software. My husband did an excellent job typing in the code that was provided by Creation Crate. They do explain what each command is doing. Once the code was uploaded to the Mood Lamp, it was time to see if it worked.
AND…..it did! How cool is that!
S loved watching the Mood Lamp change colors and brightness. I was very proud of how well she did assembling the Mood Lamp.
Interested in getting your own Creation Crate? They are recommended age is 12+, however with parental guidance they are doable at a younger age. Cost for the Creation Crate is discounted the longer you sign up for them. Their most popular package is 3 months for $26.99/per month (+ free shipping). If you sign up for a year, it’s $22.49/per month.
S and my husband had so much fun working together to assemble and test out their Mood Light. Creation Crate would make a great gift for any child or adult who loves STEM, technology, robots, etc.
