We love Hot Chocolate at our house, however as the weather warms up we always want something cold to cool off with. So when I saw the Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits at the grocery store I knew that I had to try to make Hot Chocolate Ice Cream.
This ice cream is so yummy! And my husband insists that it tastes like a Wendyβs Frosty. I have to agree with him and let me tell you I love Wendyβs Frostys. My brother use to work at a Wendyβs and he would bring home Frostys after every shift in various sizes until the entire freezer was full. Oh yum!
But I digressβ¦this recipe is super easy to make and in 20 minutes you have homemade ice cream. I hope you enjoy the recipe as much as we do!
- 2 cups Fat Free Half & Half
- 1 cup Skim Milk
- 4 packets of Hot Chocolate (we used Swiss Miss)
- 1/3 cup Jet Puffed Mallow Bits
- Whisk the milk, half and half and Hot Chocolate packets together. You may notice that the hot chocolate mix does not mix in completely and thatβs ok because as it mixes in the ice cream machine it will combine.
- Add the mixture to your running ice cream machine and let it run for about 15 minutes.
- Then add in the Jet Puffed Mallow Bits and allow the ice cream machine to run for another 5 minutes before you enjoy the ice cream.
- Tip: Make sure to keep your cold ingredients in the fridge and your frozen ice cream insert in the freezer until you are ready to use.
- Note: The ice cream will hold itβs shape better once you freeze it.
- I place my leftovers in a covered plastic container and freeze.

Welo, this sounds AMAZING! How could I NOT want to try something that tastes like a Frosty? Those were my absolute favorite when I was a kid, and I haven’t had one in years, so making this at home might be a great fix!
Also, this was one of my favorites from last week’s That’s Fresh Friday link-up! I’ll be sharing it at my blog tonight and this weekend as we kick off another party. Thanks for participating, and keep up the great work!
Thank you Erin!

this is delicious and easy! Have shared with weight watcher friends. Thank you! I LOVE ice cream and this satisfies the craving. Also, have added a tablespoon of vodka sat the end of the cycle, and it doesn’t freeze into a brick like ice milk when using low or no fat ingredients. C
Thank you Corinne! The vodka addition sounds yummy!
