Does anyone else mispronounce crêpes? I sometimes do and my husband shakes his head at me. I remind him frequently I never took French like he did. Which leads in me a fun story. In Epcot, the cast members in each country are from their respective country. One trip to Epcot, I remember my husband ordering crêpes from a stand in France. He ordered in French and the cast member started talking to him in French. My husband’s like that was the extent of French!
I do love a good crêpe even if I mispronounce them from time to time and my favorite is au chocolat. The secret to a wonderful crêpe is to make sure the batter is very thin in your pan when cooking. We always pick up the pan tilt it around in a circle to thin out the crêpe.
- 1 small package chocolate pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup cool whip
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons melted butter
- Combine pudding mix and milk. Then fold in cool whip. Refrigerate until needed.
- Whisk together flour and eggs, then add in remaining ingredients until smooth.
- Using a nonstick frying pan over medium heat, pour 1/4 cup of batter into the pan. Then tilt the pan in a circular motion to thin out the crêpe. Cook a couple minutes until the bottom is light brown then flip and cook the other side.
- Spread chocolate mousse onto crêpe. Fold in half and in half again. Serve with additional whipped topping and strawberries (optional).
