Marriage is not always easy; it takes love, respect, trust, understanding and friendship. My husband and I have been married for 9 years and together for 15 years. We are not experts but we have found that continually working on our relationship is a step in the right direction. One great way to do this is by having frequent date nights where the two of you can spend time together.
I have previously talked about our backyard movie date night, so I wanted to share additional ideas for putting together 12 date nights that you can do at home after your kids go to bed. Between life, work and our daughter, we have to specifically dedicate time to spend together. By assembling date nights that are pre-planned we have no excuses for not spending quality time together.
12 At Home Date Night Ideas
I purchase ahead of time as many items for the dates as I can that are not perishable. You can use envelopes to place items needed for each date in or place everything into a basket. I enjoy adding little notes that talk about each date night. Plus include something new and fun like K-Y® LOVE Sensuality Pleasure Gel (K-Y® LOVE Passion Pleasure Gel also available) to promote intimacy.
- Movie Night – include popcorn and candy
- Card Game Night – we used to play a lot of card games early in our relationship so this brings back memories
- Chocolate or Cheese Fondue – include the recipe and shopping list
- Bubbles Night – champagne and bubble bath
- Build a Blanket Fort – camp out in the living room or just spend a couple hours in your fort
- Photo Booth Photo Shoot – grab some silly props and take some photos together using self timer, selfie stick or just by taking a selfie and chances are you don’t have many photos together
- Video Game – using your favorite video game console spend time playing some of your favorites preferably a game that you can both play at the same time (we always end up in fits of laughter)
- How well do you know your spouse? Questionnaire – you can find many quizzes online and then see how well you know each other
- Wine Tasting – purchase a variety of small bottles that you have never tried or some of your favorites
- Plan a Trip – whether it’s your next adventure or just a bucket list item
- Indoor Picnic – lay out a blanket, pack a couple snacks and enjoy time together
- Make S’mores – inside on the stove or outside over a fire pit
You can find K-Y® at Walmart in the family planning aisle in the health and beauty section of the store.
Schedule date night with your significant other and spice it up K-Y® LOVE Sensuality Pleasure Gel.

These are such cute date night ideas, especially the ‘photo booth’ idea. You can really get creative with that, depending upon the time of the year! #client
