We will be visiting Universal Orlando this fall and it will be our first time as a family. My husband and I have visited previously but it has been many years. So, we are super excited to experience Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure!
I wanted to make sure that we see everything that is high on our list of must dos, so I created a bucket list for our trip. I hope we are able to fit everything in!
Islands of Adventure
Watch Oh! The Stories You’ll Hear! – A daily show in Seuss Landing, featuring Sam (of Green Eggs and Ham); The Cat in the Hat with Thing One & Thing Two; The Grinch and the Lorax dancing to the best-loved stories from Dr. Seuss.
Take Hogwarts Express from Islands of Adventure to Universal Studios (or vice versa or both [there are two different experiences]). You must have a multi-park ticket to be able to ride.
Learn about Dinosaurs at Jurassic Park Discovery Center – Hands on interactive activity center (air conditioned)
Drink Harry Potter’s favorite Butterbeer
Universal Studios
Relax at Curious George Goes To Town – S will love this play area since she is such a fan of one little monkey.
Watch Universal’s Superstar Parade – I am a sucker for a good parade and cannot wait to check out Universal’s!
Experience Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular – You can relive the past 100 years of cinemas during this tribute to movie memories.
Laugh at Animal Actors on Location! – S loves animals so I know she will love to see some of the most talented animals from movies and television in funny segments, live animal performances and more.
Remember Lucille Ball at Lucy – A Tribute – I loved watching I Love Lucy reruns when I was growing up, so this one is for me!
Ride a Bike in the E.T. Adventure – Another walk down memory lane…I remember going on this ride when I visited when I was a child. I can’t wait to ride again and have S experience it for the first time.
Take a Turn or Two on Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster – S loves going on coasters, so I cannot wait to take her on this one designed for kids.
Beyond the Theme Parks
Take in the Blue Man Group – Seriously so excited to finally get to see this show at City Walk!
Meet Characters at a Character Breakfast – Our group is going to be experiencing a private character breakfast, however Universal’s Superstar Character Breakfast is offered everyday and you get to interact with characters from Nickelodeon, the hit comedy Hop and Despicable Me.
Get Soaked at Wet ‘n Wild Waterpark – Wet ‘n Wild will be closing for good at the end of 2016, so I am excited to get to take a ride on their water slides one last time.
Relax at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort

I have never been and I have heard the Blue man group is the bomb can’t wait to hear your recap when you go.

The Blue Man Group is great the first time you see it but they don’t change their routines. So to see it once is great, but a second or third time, you may get bored. I’m an Orlando resident.

I’m going to Family Forward too…. my first time at Universal and I’m really pumped. A friend said the access to the park let her see a lot more than she would have had she tried to do it all alone. Fingers crossed for us!

Can’t wait to see you there Janice! It’s going to be so much fun!

I live in Orlando, and Universal is one of my favorite theme parks. If you have small children, they’ll love Dr. Seuss land. Try Jurassic Park, too. Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday.

Thank you so much for the tips Sherry! I can’t wait for our trip!
