I have finished my Project Life albums for 2013….YAY! Now it’s time to start on 2014…
I enjoy tackling the title page for my yearly albums. I always try to include at least one picture that shows all three of us. I had some extra photos sitting on my desk; two are from the middle of November and the other two are from the middle of January.
I started by pulling out some pattern paper. I did not use all the pattern paper that I pulled out but with a variety of papers I was able to lay my photos and journaling cards on top and decide what worked best together.
Once I had decided on my paper I trimmed it to fit into my page protectors. Then the fun of embellishing everything began. I really enjoyed working with the vellum shapes from Crate Paper’s Oh Darling and Crate Paper’s Maggie Holmes Styleboard collections. I like adding vellum pieces on top of photos because it still allows you to see the photo underneath.
I knew that I was going to use the 2014 flair badge from Two Peas in a Bucket, but for the rest of the embellishments I played around with pieces that I liked until I was happy.
The photo of us in the snow is especially significant to the beginning of 2014 because prior to that snow fall we had not got any snow in four years. However this year we got snow, sleet, and ice on several days in January, February and March.
