This glazed old fashion chocolate donut cake tastes similar to glazed chocolate cake donuts which makes me so happy. It is a wonderful dessert to make when you are going to have company.

Glazed Old Fashion Chocolate Donut Cake Recipe
In a mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar. Then add in eggs, vanilla, and sour cream until mixed. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Pour about half of the flour mixture into the butter mixture and slowly combine. Mix the buttermilk in. Then add the remaining flour mixture to the bowl.
Pour cake mixture into a greased bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
Once the cake is cooled, combine powder sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and pour over the top of the cake.

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
Glaze
- 3 cups powder sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar. Then add in eggs, vanilla, and sour cream until mixed.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Pour about half of the flour mixture into the butter mixture and slowly combine.
- Mix the buttermilk in. Then add the remaining flour mixture to the bowl.
- Pour cake mixture into a greased bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
- Once the cake is cooled, combine powder sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Then pour it over the top of the cake. You can save some of the glaze to pour over each slice of cake as you serve it.
