When planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort the last thing you want to have to worry about is rain, however, it does rain quite a bit in Florida. Thankfully there is plenty of fun to still be had with exciting attractions, special entertainment, and more!
Below is a list of some of the fun activities and attractions that will help you have a memorable trip even if it rains!
Magic Kingdom
- Did you know that when the afternoon parade cannot be performed at Magic Kingdom due to rain there is a “Rainy Day Cavalcade”? Mickey and friends ride in antique cars down main street while parade performers dressed in rain slickers and rain boots make their way down the street to special music. *This parade will not happen if there is lightning in the area.
- Ride indoor rides like Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan’s Flight, It’s a Small World, etc.
- Meet Disney characters at an indoor meet and greet locations such as Pete’s Silly Side Show, Princess Fairytale Hall, or Town Hall Theatre.
- Did you know that all the shops on Main Street are connected? So you can shop your way along the street without going outside.
Epcot
- Ride indoor rides like Soarin’ Around the World, Living with the Land, Mission: Space, Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros, Frozen Ever After, Journey into Imagination with Figment, etc.
- Go under the seas at The Seas with Nemo & Friends attraction where after the ride you can get an up-close view of clownfish, sharks, dolphins, manatees, and more.
- Catch films in the countries such as Reflections of China, Impressions de France, and Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360.
- Watch popular Disney and Pixar short films—in 4D at the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival or sing along with Beauty and the Beast in France.
- Meet Disney characters at an indoor meet and greet locations such as Meet Anna and Elsa at the Royal Sommerhus.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Ride indoor rides like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Toy Story Mania!, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Train, etc.
- Sing along with Anna and Elsa in For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Singalong Celebration or watch Muppets Vision 3D.
- Meet Disney characters at an indoor meet and greet locations such as Star Wars Launch Bay, Meet Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams, and Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight, etc.
Animal Kingdom
- Watch the shows: “The Festival of the Lion King” or Finding Nemo – The Musical.
- Ride indoor rides like Avatar Flight of Passage, Na’vi River Journey, DINOSAUR, etc.
- Catch the 3D and live show: It’s Tough to be a Bug!
- Meet Disney characters at an indoor meet and greet locations such as Adventures Outpost.
The weather may not always cooperate, but being prepared can help make your visit enjoyable! Be sure to pack umbrellas, ponchos, or raincoats. Or purchase ponchos at most stores on property.
