Whether your dog has gone from a puppy to an adult or you have recently adopted an adult dog this survival guide is for you!
Let’s be honest, having a puppy was a lot of work and seemed to take forever!
I am excited for my dog, Duke, to reach the adult dog stage, however having an adult dog can also have some learning curves.
This guide is going to include entertaining your adult dog with toys, taking into consideration dog food for adult dogs, and keeping your dog active and healthy with some great dog-friendly activities.

Dog Toys
This may seem like a no brainer, but you’re going to need dog toys! Dog toys are important because you want your dog to be entertained and happy. You also what your dog to chew toys instead of your favorite pair of shoes!
My dog loves anything squeaky. His philosophy is the squeakier the better (this is based off the fact that he will walk around squeaking his toy none stop). I recommend you visit your local Target and see which toy is the squeakiest or has the most squeakers!
Adult Dog Food
Choosing the right adult dog food is so important to the health of your pet. We use Purina® ONE® Lamb & Rice because it is focused on the lifelong potential for Duke. With crunchy bites and tender, meaty morsels he’s in love at mealtime.
We reach for Purina® because they have the well-being and health of pets as their priority with over 85 years of research and over 500 scientists. Dog-Friendly Activities
Keeping your dog active is great for both the mental and physical well-being of your pet.
Make sure you not to force your dog to do an activity that they are not comfortable with and to take precautions to keep your dog safe.
Some great dog-friendly activities include long walks, playing at a local dog park, or playing in a shallow pond.
You can find all your pet items: food, treats, toys, etc. at Target. I love that I can pick up what I need for Duke while I am picking up items for everyone else in the family.
