Is anyone else on a decluttering, organizing, and simplifying your life kick right now? I know I am! I have been so inspired this year to simplify my life.
While organizing I feel that one place that gets missed is the freezer. My family opens the freezer several times a day and in search of food to eat or treats to enjoy and having a drawer freezer all the contents seem to get jolted around and mixed up. I have been known to purchase an item that we already have in the freezer or open a new package before the old is used up because I didn’t know another one existed! Am I the only one or does this happen to you too?
One thing I am really trying to do to simplify my life is to only purchase food that I know my family will eat. In 2019, I have been utilizing a meal plan and purchasing at Walmart what I need for those meals along with pantry items that need to be restocked.
I have also been gravitating towards food that I know I will use or that can be multi-purposed, which is why I have been re-stocking my freezer with Healthy Choice Steamer Grilled Chicken Marinara with Parmesan and Banquet Chicken Pot Pie. They both make for quick lunches and could also be used as dinner starters when I need a quick dinner where I want to get lots of flavor without the fuss!
I have been loving Healthy Choice Steamer Grilled Chicken Marinara with Parmesan because it is a wholesome meal with crisp vegetables, tender chicken and flavorful sauces. A family favorite like Banquet Chicken Pot Pie is filled with tender chicken and vegetables in a creamy gravy and wrapped in a flaky crust – melt in your mouth delicious!
While shopping at your local Walmart this month (March), keep an eye out for demos featuring your favorite brands at select locations. During the demos, they will even be passing out insulated frozen food bags! I found all my favorite frozen meals in the frozen food aisle under the “meals for one” sign.
How to Organize Your Freezer
Start by removing all the food and purging any food that is no longer good.
Then, clean your freezer so that you can start with a fresh slate. I was embarrassed at how dirty the bottom of freezer was.
Next, add storage containers to your freezer to assist with keeping like items together. The containers also help keep food upright.
Last, add food back into the freezer utilizing the storage containers. One way to be able to visually see what you have in your freezer is by placing your favorite brands like Banquet®, Marie Callender’s®, and Healthy Choice® frozen meals standing up. If the items are laying down then other items start stacking on top and you do not know what is in your freezer.
