Rivers of Light Dessert Party Information
The Rivers of Light Dessert Party is a nighttime celebration in Animal Kingdom with desserts, drinks, and reserved seating for the Rivers of Light nighttime show.
If you participate in the Rivers of Light Dessert party, you will meet at the Asia viewing terrace across from Expedition Everest one hour and 15 minutes prior to the Rivers of Light showtime. There will be plenty of time to enjoy as many sweet treats as you can eat. Desserts are Animal Kingdom and the Rivers of Light themed. Before the show begins, or at any time you would like to sit down, you can make your way to a reserved seating area to watch the Rivers of Light show.
Advanced Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance. Always make sure to double check the show schedule on the day of the event, because showtimes are subject to change. Reservations must be canceled 120 hours in advance to avoid a fee. Animal Kingdom theme park admission is required to attend the Rivers of Light Dessert Party.
About Rivers of Light
Rivers of Light is a nighttime show that celebrates the wildlife of the world. Rivers of Light lasts about 15 minutes and the show features self-guided floating barges, huge fountains, colored lights, projections, live performers, and fire effects. We love the Rivers of Light show! It is beautiful, modern and different than other evening entertainment.
What to Expect at the Dessert Party
The Animal Kingdom and Rivers of Light themed desserts, fresh fruit, and cheese are served on a buffet. Also, Mickey’s Ice Cream Bars and Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Sandwich are available.
There is a bar station with a couple of beer choices, two mixed drink choices: Tiger Lily, a rum-based cocktail, and Asia Chai Tea, a vodka-based drink, or a white or red wine. In addition, there is a station with non-alcoholic drinks including water, ice tea, Purple Lotus mocktail, and Jungle Juice. You can stand at tables to eat and drink before the show, but there are no seats at the tables.
The staff was so attentive, continually checking in with every table, and making sure we all knew what are viewing options were for the show! When it started to rain, ponchos were brought out to everyone and a tent was immediately put up over the food. The level of service at this dessert party is amazing!
The first several rows of the section closest to the dessert party of the amphitheater are reserved for dessert party guests or you can opt to stay in the dessert party area. The view from the reserved seating is amazing, so I highly recommend the seats.
There are no bathrooms that are close to the dessert party, so make sure that children go before the party otherwise it is a long walk.
Tips
If you are looking for additional ways to get reserved seating for the show, Rivers of Light, you can book a dining package. You can also make a FastPass+ reservation for Rivers of Light for reserved seating. Otherwise, there is a standby queue for seating to view the show.
