With trees starting to bloom and blades of grass popping up, making seed bombs is the perfect way to ring in this beautiful new season. Seed bombs are a fun way to add beauty to hard to reach places in your yard and are easy to make for the whole family.
Once the seed bombs are ready just take a walk through your yard and toss them where you want flowers or herbs to grow. Gardening made easy, fun, and kid friendly!
My daughter, S, and I both have sensitive skin. We always use all® free clear detergent and all® free clear Mighty Pacs® because they are free of dyes and perfumes while still being tough on stains, but gentle on your clothes. It is the#1 detergent recommended by Dermatologists, Allergists, and Pediatricians for Sensitive Skin.
By using all® free clear detergent it is one less thing I have to worry about with sensitive skin in our family. We can then spend more time together creating memories. These seed bombs are the perfect way to dress up our backyard and enjoy the spring weather.
Supplies Needed:
- Seeds of your choice. We used wildflowers. Note: Larger seeds don’t always stay in your seed bomb easily so use smaller seeds if possible.
- Colored paper, torn into pieces (2 pages)
- Newspaper, torn into pieces (2 pages)
- Blender
- Silicone mold. If you don’t have a mold, you can also form into balls with your hands.
- 2 cups of warm water
- Mixing bowls
- Old cloth. We used a cut up t-shirt.
- Sponge
Instructions:
- Tear up your paper into pieces and place into your blender.
- Add warm water to blender and let sit 10 minutes.
- Blend until pulverized.
- Place a cloth over a small bowl and pour the entire contents from the blender into the cloth.
- Gently mix up the pulp and seeds together. Then squeeze out any excess water over a bowl.
- Press the mixture into a mold. Continue until you’ve used up all the pulp.
- Finally, using a sponge, press down on each seed bomb to soak up any left over moisture – you want to remove as much water as possible to prevent the seeds from germinating.
- Allow seed bombs to dry for 24-48 hours and then gently remove them from the mold.
- Next toss where you’d like flowers to bloom.
When it’s time to wash our clothes from all of our adventures outside in the dirt and watering the seed bombs (which may have turn into a water fight), I know all® free clear Liqued Detergent and all® free clear Mighty Pacs® will remove three of the top everyday allergens and 99% of seasonal allergens.* With spending so much additional time outside in the spring, it’s nice to not have to worry about sensitive skin or seasonal allergens.
I always pick up all® free clear Liqued Detergent and all® free clear Mighty Pacs® in the detergent aisle at my local Target.
*all® free clear is not intended to treat or prevent allergies.
What will you be planting in your garden this year? Does your family use all® free clear products?
