I have always been a fan of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. I have a collection of 7 books from the Tale of series that I received from my grandmother when I was a little girl. When my daughter was born I passed the book series down to her.
The other day I was looking through a stack of postcards that my grandmother had sent me when I was a child and found one with Peter Rabbit on it. I told S “Oh look Peter Rabbit! My grandmother got me the books that you have.” And S told me how much she loved those books.
I turned the postcard over and read what my grandmother wrote to me on November 3, 1984. She said that she had visited the British Museum and had picked me up The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies book. Then I cried and cried because I miss my grandma so much! I never knew that she got that book at the British Museum. I loved that the postcard was written in my grandmother’s handwritten and I am so grateful that my mom hung onto the postcards for so long.
With Peter Rabbit on my brain, I thought that he would be perfect for Easter. A wonderful tradition would be adding one book from the Tales of series by Beatrix Potter to your child’s Easter basket each year.
