Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival has always been one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World. This year the festival runs until November 12th. To be honest, the festival could be quite boring for a child, but by getting your child engaged they will stay happy and entertained which can make your time much more enjoyable. Below I am sharing 8 tips for taking kids to Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival.

- Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak – The kids hunt for “ingredients” and mark, with stickers, where they found which ingredient on the map. To take part in this culinary fun, you can buy a map and sticker package for $6.99* (plus tax) at select locations at Epcot. Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak map can be turned into Port of Entry upon completion (or at any point) to receive your prize. This year the prize is your choice of one of four lenticular cups with a 3D effect. *price subject to change
- Kid-Approved Food and Drinks – My daughter loves to try new food! If you have a not so adventurous eater the marketplace booth menus indicate which food items are kid-approved.
- Festival Passport – Each passport comes with stickers representing each marketplace booth and as you try food or drinks from that booth you can “stamp” your passport. Kids love stickers, therefore the Festival Passport is a great way to entertain your child while at the festival, while waiting for a bus, or during the ride back to your resort.
- Playground – Kids can burn off that excess energy and sugar by playing at a special Food and Wine Festival Playground located near Test Track. There are even some chairs and benches in the shade for parents to take a much-needed break!
- Kidcot Fun Stops – Each pavilion at Epcot has a table attended by a representative from each nation, where guests will be given a Ziploc bag which looks like a suitcase. At each of the 11 countries, you’ll be able to collect a special traveler’s card which includes facts about that country. On the back of each card is a picture that can be colored and fits the motif of each country. Once you have collected all eleven cards, you can visit any Kidcot Fun Stop for a special World Showcase postcard from Mickey Mouse!
- Characters – Take a break from the kiosks and go character hunting! Epcot is home to the Fab Five characters and many princesses including Mulan, Belle, Anna & Elsa, Snow White, and Jasmine, along with Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins.
- Rides – Epcot’s World Showcase has 2 rides that are indoors along with a couple of film attractions. They make a great escape from the afternoon heat. The Mexico pavilion offers the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros and the Norway pavilion is home to the popular Frozen Ever After. If you are looking for even more rides, you can venture into Future World.
- Disney Du Jour Dance Party – Super fun dance party featuring a DJ 7 days a week with live performances from Radio Disney on Friday and Saturday evenings.
