Here are some great things to do at Walt Disney World without a park ticket:
- Swimming at the Resort – Being able to relax at the pool in the afternoon or on a break day helps you get refreshed. Plus trips to the pool are usually pretty high up on kids favorites list. Each Disney resort has a pool with a pool bar. Moderate and deluxe level resorts offer additional theming and water fun like waterslides. However, value resorts usually have a centrally located pool and one or two smaller pools tucked back into the resort.
- Check Your Resort’s Recreation and Entertainment Schedules – There are many different recreation offerings at every resort. Not every resort offers the same recreation and entertainment but somethings you might see at your resort include nightly campfires, movie nights, fishing, horse and carriage rides, pin-trading, fun runs, and more.
- Visit Disney Springs – There is so much to do at Disney Springs you could spend all day there and still not see and do everything!
- Monorail Loop Crawl – You could make a crawl out of anything at the resorts on the monorail loop including desserts, drinks, or piece together a full meal. It’s easy to hop on and off the monorail and visit Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. If you’re planning your crawl for later in the day you can even see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from each of these resorts.
- Go for a Pony Ride, Trail Ride, Horse Drawn Carriage Ride or Wagon Ride – You can stroll through the stables to see Cinderella’s Ponies and the majestic horses of Main Street at Tri-Circle-D Ranch at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Also available are pony rides for little ones and trail rides for older kids/adults. Or you can relax during a horse-drawn carriage ride or take an old fashioned horse-drawn wagon ride.
- Visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Chip ‘n Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-long and S’mores – Nightly at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is Chip ‘n Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long. You can bring your own marshmallows and sticks, or purchase a s’mores kit from the Chuckwagon Snack Bar. After you enjoy the gooey goodness of your s’mores, sing-a-long to old-time favorites while Chip ‘n Dale visit guests for photos and autographs.
- Spa Day – If you are looking for a way to relax you can choose from many hair, nail, massage, body treatment, and facial packages at Spas located throughout Walt Disney World including at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel.
Bonus: Walt Disney World offers two mini golf courses and four 9 or 18 hole golf courses on property. There is something to fit every level of golfer and those mini golf courses are so cute!

We had the best time (on two different trips!) hanging around our hotel pool and watching the kids participate in all the family friendly activities!
