Disney California Adventure Park has been growing and changing a lot recently with the newly reimagined Pixar Pier along with the closure of A Bug’s Land to make way for the new Marvel-themed land. With each change, the park gets better and better. There are so many great rides and attractions that you need to experience at Disney California Adventure Park.
Be sure you purchase a park-hopper ticket when visiting Disneyland Resort because it is very easy to hop between the two. You can find more information about visiting Disneyland Resort here.

Below is my favorite/must do attractions at Disney California Adventure Park:
- Radiator Springs Racers – This is such a awesome ride! As you zoom through the desert landscape of Cars Land, you are pitted against another car for a friendly race. This ride always has one of the longest wait times at Disney California Adventure Park, so I highly recommend visiting at park opening or getting a Fastpass for it.
- Incredicoaster – The newly re-imaginated rollercoaster is an exhilarating thrill ride. The ride has all-new special effects, character moments, scenes and a musical score. The smell of fresh baked cookies during the ride will make you want one for yourself, so grab one at Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num at the exit to the ride.
- Soarin’ Around the World – This attraction simulates flying in a hang glider over breathtaking landscapes and iconic destinations from around the world. This ride is also available at Epcot at Walt Disney World.
- Toy Story Midway Mania! – One of my favorite rides! Ride and take aim at moving objects during this midway-inspired, 4D game starring popular Disney·Pixar Toy Story characters. You compete againt the people in your ride vehicle for the highest score!
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! – This ride is a makeover from the classic Tower of Terror attraction and a must-do for anyone who likes thrill rides. After commandeering a gantry lift, you’ll join Rocket on a harrowing mission to rescue his fellow Guardians and all to the tune of one of Star-Lord’s awesome mixtape songs!
- Grizzly River Run – This ride is perfect on hot days – we got soaked! If you’ve been to Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, you’ll recognize this as a similar ride to Kali River Rapids. Guest sit in 8-passenger rafts and float around a themed California river environment, complete with drops and lots of splashes. It was one of my daughter’s favorite rides. Lockers are located next to the 20-foot tall grizzly bear statue that marks the entrance to Grizzly River Run. Be sure to store electronics or other items that might be damaged by water. The lockers are available at no charge for the first 2 hours.
- Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree – Board a trailer pulled by an adorable little tractor and get ready to spin, whip and whirl in “figure eight” movements. You will twirl in time to tow-tappin’ square dance hosted by Mater from the Disney·Pixar movie Cars. My daughter loved this ride and we rode it atleast 6 times during our trip.
Additional attractions that are worth checking out if you have time include:
- Monster’s, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! – If you arrive before park opening, they have a little contest among the kids to see who can scream the loudest. The winner gets a certificate.
- Animation Academy
- Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters
I hope you have fun planning your trip to Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort!
