Cinderella’s castle is the iconic image of Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The castle is 189 feet tall and can be seen from the Seven Seas Lagoon as you approach Magic Kingdom from the parking lot by ferry or monorail.
Inside the castle’s archway are five mosaic murals that tell the story of Cinderella. Take the time to look at the murals and not just rush through the castle as they are beautiful.
The castle also houses Cinderella’s Royal Table restaurant, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and Cinderella’s Castle Suite (which is used for specially selected guests).
Here are 10 ways to photograph Cinderella’s Castle at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World:
1. A traditional photo that all guests take while visiting Magic Kingdom is a picture of their family on main street with Cinderella’s castle in the background. Disney World makes it easy for you to take this photo as they have multiple photopass photographers available to capture the moment. While this is the traditional it is not my favorite place to take a photo because there are always so many people walking up and down main street. Tip: Photopass photographers will also take a photo with your personal camera if you ask.
2. Take a photo of Cinderella’s castle from a child’s perspective. These are some of my favorite photos of my daughter at about 22 months. I knelt down to her level to take the photos.
3. Cinderella’s castle at night is beautiful! As the sun sets the castle is illuminated with colored lights from pink to green to blue to purple. The castle will even change colors based on the time of year or if a special event is happening at Magic Kingdom.
4. To the right of the castle along the path that leads to Tomorrowland is a Rose Garden that is a great spot to take a photo of Cinderella’s castle.
5. As Wishes lights up the night sky, standing on Main Street you get to see the castle framed by the fireworks.
6. The path that leads up the left side of Cinderella’s castle gives you a unique angle.
7. There are a couple different places to capture a photo of the Main Street Electrical Parade with Cinderella’s castle in the background. One is the hub area and the other is near the bridge that leads to Liberty Square.
8. In front of the Crystal Palace restaurant is spot that you can take a photo of the castle without a thousand people behind you.
9. Do not forget the back of Cinderella’s castle. Just because it is the back does not mean it is any less beautiful.
10. I have saved my favorite for last…..a picture of Cinderella’s castle at Christmastime. Disney World cast members cover the castle with over 200,000 LED Christmas lights. When covered with the Christmas lights, the castle appears as if it has ice on it. Cinderella’s castle is gorgeous decorated for Christmas!
I hope these photos of Cinderella’s castle inspire you to take more than just the traditional castle photo.

So funny that you post this now! I have a post that goes live on Friday on my favorite places to take photos at the Magic Kingdom. The two I’d add to the list are capturing the Castle from the People Mover and taking a shot of Main Street USA and the Castle from the top of the train station. Those are two of my favorite spots!
I love your list though. The back of the castle is one of my favorite places to take photos, especially at night! And the castle at Christmas is a must-have! It’s my favorite time of the year to visit.

We took a couple great pictures, one on a taking just a little further down from the Crystal Palace that let us get our while family in with no bystanders, and another on a bench on the path past the Castle from Liberty Square. They ended up some of my favorite pictures from our troop last month!

I am going to have to look for the bench on the path from Liberty Square! I am always looking for new places to take photos! Thanks Beth!
