10 Tips for Taking Kids to the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival so that they stay engaged, happy and entertained.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival has always been one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World. This year the festival runs from March 4 to June 1, 2020. If your child enjoys flowers, gardening, and topiaries, your child will really enjoy the festival! However, even if they don’t there are enough activities around Epcot to keep your child happy and entertained which will make your time at the festival more enjoyable. Below I am sharing 10 tips for taking kids to Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival.

If you are looking for more information about visiting Walt Disney World during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival here are some tips for having a great time. You can also find all the menus for the Outdoor Kitchens (food booths) for 2020 here.
Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration – Similar to a scavenger hunt, kids hunt for Spike, a honey bee, and mark, with stickers, where they found him on the map. Start by purchasing a map at Port of Entry. As you explore the World Showcase search for flowers featuring Spike. Then return your completed map to Port of Entry for a special surprise.
Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt – Near Easter, participate in the Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt around World Showcase in search of Disney character-themed eggs. Start by purchasing a map at Disney Traders, Pin Central or World Traveler, and then hunt high and low for the hidden eggs. Once your map is complete return it to Disney Traders for a surprise.
Butterfly House – As always the Butterfly House will be open for nature lovers to learn about these creatures from egg to full-grown.
Kid-Approved Food and Drinks – My daughter loves to try new food! If you have a not so adventurous eater the Outdoor Kitchen menus indicate which food items are kid-approved. Plus with the smaller size portions, they offer the perfect opportunity to try something new.
Festival Passport – Each Festival Passport comes with stickers representing each Outdoor Kitchen. As you try food or drinks from that booth you can “stamp” your passport. Kids love stickers, therefore the Festival Passport is a great way to entertain your child while at the festival, while waiting for a bus, or during the ride back to your resort.
Playground – Kids can burn off that excess energy by playing at a new Toy Story 4 themed play area, Bo Peep’s Playtime Training Grounds. It is located by the walkway to Test Track.
Kidcot Fun Stops – Each pavilion at Epcot has a table attended by a representative from each nation, where guests will be given a Ziploc bag that looks like a suitcase. In each of the 11 countries, you’ll be able to collect a special traveler’s card which includes facts about that country. On the back of each card is a picture that can be colored and fits the motif of each country. Once you have collected all eleven cards, you can visit any Kidcot Fun Stop for a special World Showcase postcard from Mickey Mouse!
Characters – Take a break from the kiosks and go character hunting! Epcot is home to the Fab Five characters. They also host many princesses including Mulan, Belle, Anna & Elsa, Snow White, and Jasmine, along with Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins.
Rides – Epcot’s World Showcase has 2 rides that are indoors along with a couple of film attractions. They make a great escape from the afternoon heat. The Mexico pavilion offers the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. The Norway pavilion is home to the popular Frozen Ever After. If you are looking for even more rides, you can venture into Future World.
