Beach by mixing and matching activities and attractions. That’s what makes Visit Panama City Beach so unique.
Things to Do in Panama City Beach
1. Visit the Beaches
With 27 miles of soft, white sand, you will have not a problem finding the perfect spot to lounge under an umbrella and gaze out at the turquoise water of the Gulf. Catch up on a good book, frolic in the waves, snorkel, or try your hand at beach volleyball.
2. Ride an Airboat
Airboat rides are awesome! They can navigate in just a few inches of water which makes them a great way to see Florida’s inland ecosystem. At Airboats Gone Wild, you will get to explore a labyrinth of creeks, islands, and marshes at speeds approaching Mach 10. You may see dolphins, alligators, sharks, manatees, bald eagles, osprey, and more.
3. Go on a Hike
Situated between the Gulf Coast and Lake Powell is Camp Helen State Park. The park has a variety of ecosystems including salt marshes and freshwater wetlands. It is the perfect place for hiking, swimming, beachcombing, or biking on the trails. St. Andrews State Park is on the eastern edge of Panama City Beach and is full of deer, birds, and alligators. There are several hiking trails, but you can also enjoy kayaking or snorkeling. This park also offers RV and tent camping.
4. Dolphin Swim
One of my daughter’s favorite vacation memories is swimming with dolphins. The tour guides at Adventures at Sea will take you to the locals’ favorite spot, Shell Island, for a trip that your family will not forget.
5. Amusement Park
There are several amusement parks for families in Panama City Beach including Cobra Adventure Park and Coconut Creek Family Fun Park. At Cobra Adventure Park, you can race go-karts on a four-story track! Coconut Creek Family Fun Park has a football-field-sized Gran Maze that is famous for being the first in the country.
6. Biking
In addition to the trails at Camp Helen State Park, Gayle’s Trails is a system of paved greenways and trails that radiate from a central trailhead at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach. The trails allow you to ride out and back along three different routes.
7. Fishing
Does your family want to do some fishing along the Gulf Coast? You can rent a pontoon boat from Bay Point Water Sports for a wonderful family fishing trip.
8. Waterpark
Do you love water parks? Shipwreck Island Waterpark has a huge wave pool along with thrilling water rides. The Rapid River Run will carry you through an exciting whitewater adventure of quick rapids and waterfalls. Or ride 400 feet of twists and turns on the White Knuckle River. Or maybe racing a friend is more your style? The Pirate’s Plunge Racing Slide lets you race reaching speeds of 35 miles per hour.
9. Mini-Golf
I don’t know about you, but mini-golf just screams family vacation. We always seem to hit up the local course for a little fun family competition. Goofy Golf is the premier mini-golf course in Panama City Beach and has been around since 1959.
10. Watch the Sunset
Sunsets at the beach are always so breathtaking, as the sun and sky reflect off of the water. I highly suggest watching at least one Panama City Beach sunset. There is a limitless amount of fun to be had in Panama City Beach. If you need more inspiration on what to do and see in Panama City Beach, visit the Real. FUN. Beach and plan your fun today.
