Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. S loves to get mail and I had been considering trying out one of the kids monthly subscription boxes, so we signed up for Citrus Lane. We used a promo code and only paid $14.50 for our first box. Citrus Lane sends the boxes based on your child’s gender and age. So our box is for a 4.5 year old girl.
July 2014
Our first box came in the mail last month (end of July). We received: Tooth Fairy Doll by North American Bear Company – S is not big on stuffed animals they just lay around. We also already have a Tooth Fairy box, so we really did not need another. So, while this is cute and well made, it’s not something that is going to get much use. $11.99
Match Stacks by Tree Hopper Toys – The match game is super cute and I love that it is made out of solid wood. $19.95
Applesauce Pouch from GoGo Squeez – S ate this right away. She loves these pouches. $1.00
Pur~Protect SPF 30 from Pur~Lisse – The sunscreen of course will be used. $6.32 While I was not blown away by the selection this month the value was there. Retail would have cost $39.26, but I only paid $14.50, shipped.
August 2014
I went ahead and got another month, because I know that Citrus Lane can not get it right every month. We just received our second box last week and I really like the selection. Tea for Two from Green Toys – This tea set is awesome! It is made entirely of eco-friendly materials and is food safe and dishwasher safe. S had hosted “tea” every afternoon since we received our package. I love that it promotes creative and imaginative play. This was made exclusively for Citrus Lane, so approximate retail value of $15.00
Mix and Match from Petit Collage – This mix and match set also promotes creativity. S has played with this several times creating different characters by mixing heads, bodies and legs. $14.99
Kids Shoe Horn by Jasmine Seven – This item I found to be very odd. I’ve never used a shoe horn and S didn’t even know what it was. $3.95
Language Video Digital Download from Little Pim – I am excited to download this video to help introduce a second language to S. $16.66
This month’s box was worth approximately $50.60
While I enjoyed the selection better this month, I was going to cancel our subscription and try another company. However, when I put in to cancel, Citrus Lane offered me one month at $15.00 to give them another try. So I went ahead and agreed to receive another box next month. I think the box is a great value at $15.00. So I am excited to see what’s in our box next month.

I didn’t know they did subscription boxes for kids! The little girl I babysat for this summer adored tea parties! I loved how she expressed her creativity through them and made up voices for her “guests” aka, her stuffed animals. She was a hoot!
mybigfathappylife says
Sounds like she had a great imagination! Love that!

This a really cute idea. I love that it gives your kids a couple new things each month, and that some aren’t toys but items you need in the household. Brilliant!
