Disney does it again with a wonderful movie: Big Hero 6! I think that Big Hero 6 may actually be better than Frozen *Gasp* I know! But I loved the story line and there were so many funny moments that had me laughing out loud. I did miss having awesome music though! Once Big Hero 6 was over I couldn’t remember a single song!
S loved the movie too and actually asked to watch the movie again the next day, which she didn’t do with Frozen.
When Big Hero 6 came out on Blu-Ray, we decided to have a viewing dessert party!
Food
First up Baymax themed cupcakes! These cupcakes could be made with any cake recipe or mix you would like. Red velvet would be a good choice to go with the red and white color scheme of Baymax. To make the Baymax cupcake toppers take a large marshmallow and using black gel for cakes make two eyes and connect them with a line. I found the easiest way to draw a line was to use a toothpick. Once the cupcakes were cool, frost them using a white frosting (vanilla or cream cheese) and top them with a Baymax marshmallow.
I also made popcorn with the option of adding on mini marshmallows and red M&Ms – sticking to the red and white theme. Because you can’t watch a movie without popcorn π
Our last food item was homemade pretzel bites with sweet cream cheese dipping sauce (recipe here). It’s one of our favorites!
Decorations
I followed the red and white color scheme of Big Hero 6 with some hints of black and blue. Decorating with items found in Hero’s garage (like a toolbox) or comic books fits the mood.
Since S just meet Hero and Baymax at Walt Disney World in December, I included a picture of the three of them for a personal touch.
Conclusion
A Big Hero 6 Dessert Party is the perfect way to view this newly released Disney movie!

Yes, be prepared π What’s nice is most of Disney movies have a story line that is interesting to adults to with references that kids don’t get.
